Web Publications
In an effort to combat rising the rising costs of information particularly in the academic world but also in the public domain, there has been a movement by scholars and information professionals toward creating ebooks, ejournals and emagazines that are freely available to all. These are known as OA publications.Open access articles can be found with a web search, using any general search engine or those specialized for the scholarly/scientific literature, such Google Scholar.
Open access to scholarly research is can be important to the public for a variety of reasons. One reason to permit public access to the scholarly information is that most of the research is paid for by taxpayers through government grants.
I have tried to include publications on a variety of subjects besides art to give you some idea of what is available.
Many open access titles require use of Adobe Acrobat which is downloadable free from the Internet.
